Ljubljana, 19 October 2015 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, acting as the Managing Authority for European Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund, issued a grant-award decision for the investment “Drinking water supply in the area of Zgornja Sava – Lot 2” which will result in long-term and safe drinking water supply in the municipality of Radovljica. The project worth approximately EUR 1 million will receive Cohesion Fund support in the amount of over EUR 600,000.
The investment covers hydraulic improvements of the water supply system in Radovljica. The project covers the construction of a new water distribution system Hraše-Ledevnica in the total length of 2,470 metres, and reconstruction of the water reservoir with the capacity of 800 m3. The transit water supply system will supply water to the water reservoir Ledevnica. Due to the length of the water supply network a UV disinfection device will be installed which will ensure microbiological suitability of drinking water before it is distributed.
The construction of adequate infrastructure will improve public drinking water supply and thus ensure better and safer drinking water supply for the inhabitants of the municipality of Radovljica. Connecting additional inhabitants to the public drinking water supply system and reducing water loses will improve general drinking water supply and living conditions for the inhabitants.
