Approved public call for proposals for the co-financing of further development and activity of career centres in higher education in the 2013-2015 period

Ljubljana, 19 February 2013 – The Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, acting as the Managing Authority for the EU structural funds and the Cohesion Fund, issued a decision awarding EU funds for the public call for proposals “Co-financing of further development and activity of career centres in higher education in the 2013-2015 period”. The public call for proposals, the overall framework value of which amounts to a maximum of 1,340,000 Euros, will be implemented by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport. The European Social Fund contribution amounts to 85 percent of the total value.

The purpose of the public call for proposals is to promote and further strengthen the development of career guidance especially counselling for students in higher education. The chosen activities to be co-financed will enable the career counsellors to gain experience in the field of management and organisation of career centres and career counselling. This will, among other things, contribute to raising awareness among students about the importance of career planning and life-long learning, to a higher level of competence and practical knowledge to efficiently enter the labour market.

The entities eligible to apply for the funds of the public call for proposals are higher education establishments in the Republic of Slovenia. The objective of the public call for proposal is to support the future development of career guidance within the higher education establishments, strengthen the cooperation of career centres with the employers or to contribute to the objective of graduates directly entering the labour market after finishing their studies.

You can contact the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, which will publish the public call for proposals, for more information.
