The European Commission approved the changes of the operational programmes
The European Commission approved the changes of the Operational Programme of Environmental and Transport Infrastructure Development and Operational Programme for Strengthening Regional Development Potentials. In the framework of both mentioned operational programmes almost 196 million Euros will be redistributed for promotion of innovations and development-research projects. Also the resources among various priorities within the two operational programmes were redistributed. Both operational programmes are the basis for drawing on the 3.345 billion Euros from the Cohesion Fund and the European Regional Development Fund.
On the basis of the mentioned changes 58.5 million Euros from the European Regional Development Fund will be redistributed to the Operational Programme for Strengthening Regional Development Potentials for the promotion of innovation and development-research projects.
After the mentioned redistribution the overall value of the Operational Programme of Environmental and Transport Infrastructure Development (OP ETID) amounts to 1.577 billion Euros and the overall value of the Operational Programme for Strengthening Regional Development Potentials (OP SRDP) amounts to 1.768 billion Euros.
The OP ETID funds are primarily meant for the modernisation of construction of the infrastructure in the filed of environment and transport and to a lesser extent – in the amount of 160 million Euros – for the projects in the field of sustainable energy use. The mentioned programme is the basis for drawing on the Cohesion Fund and the European Regional Development Fund (165 million Euros).
With the redistribution within the programme additional 20 million Euros is meant for the environment so the overall value of the funds for the environmental projects amounts to 548 million Euros.
Most of the funds of the OP ETID, i.e. 836 million Euros, is still meant for the projects in the field of transport the greatest share – about 449 million Euros – is meant for projects in the field of railway infrastructure, 220 million Euros for road and maritime infrastructure and about 165 million Euros for transport infrastructure (ERDF). Within the environmental projects the majority of the funds, i.e. 392.9 million Euros (before 325.4 million Euros) is meant for waters (discharge and treatment, drinking water supply and flood safety). The funds for communal waste management were reduced by about a quarter; for these purposes 155.5 million Euros is ensured (before 205.5 million Euros).
In the framework of the Operational Programme for Strengthening Regional Development Potentials 598.1 million Euros is meant for the promotion of the competitiveness of companies and research excellence (increase by almost 196 million Euros or around 48%). The resources for economic development industry were decreased by 127.5 million Euros (now amounting to 269.5 million Euros); the funds for connecting natural and cultural potentials decreased by 10 million Euros (now amounting to 253.2 million Euros). The OP SRDP funds are also meant for the development of regions (619.4 million Euros) and technical assistance (28 million Euros).
