EU funds for Celje Emergency Centre

Ljubljana, 4 April 2013 – The Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, acting as the Managing Authority for the EU structural funds and the Cohesion Fund, issued a decision awarding EU funds for the Celje Emergency Centre. The construction of the emergency centre will enhance the efficiency, improve the accessibility and raise the level of expertise of non-stop emergency medical service in the Savinjska region. The overall value of the project amounts to 9.6 million Euros of which the European Regional Development Fund contribution amounts to 5.3 million Euros.

In the framework of the investment a new emergency centre will be set up, including the equipment which is part of the project “Replacement new constructions of the Celje General Hospital”. The purpose of setting up the emergency centre is to establish modern conditions for emergency medical service for the area of the Savinjska statistical region or health region, including the merger of the primary and hospital emergency service in a single location. This will ensure better medical treatment of patients in a single location and drastically improve the possibilities of better diagnostic and therapeutic treatment. It will also increase the speed and efficiency of treating emergency acute states in the Savinjska region and ensure adequate integration with other higher professional level emergency centres.

You can find more information about the project at the Ministry of Health which is responsible for the implementation of the project.
