Ljubljana, 18 September 2015 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, acting as the Managing Authority for European Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund, approved the project “Provision of additional areas for programmes implemented by Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Architecture of University of Maribor”. Under the 2007-2013 programming period the project worth EUR 1.9 million will receive European Regional Development Fund support in the amount of EUR 572 thousand.
Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Architecture of University of Maribor is currently performing research in a limited scope due to the lack of sufficient capacities. The project covers renovation of the Faculty located at Krekova 2 street in Maribor. This will enable provision of additional areas encompassing 2,342.90 m2 and the relevant equipment for implementing the programmes, in particular for development and research activities of the Faculty and its institutes. The renovated premises will also be used for various purposes used by students for the implementation of study programmes (architecture) or cooperation of the Faculty with the economic sector (transfer of knowledge and cooperation of the research sphere with the economic sector).
The project will contribute to improving the conditions for research activities of the Faculty, offering new employment opportunities and indirectly contributing to enhancing the Faculty’s study activities.
