Ljubljana, 3 September 2013 – Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, acting as the Managing Authority for EU structural funds and the Cohesion Fund, issued a decision awarding EU funds for the Jesenice Emergency Centre. The realisation of the project, which is worth 6 million Euros – of which the European Regional Development Fund contribution amounts to 4.2 million Euros, will enhance the speed and efficiency of treating acute emergencies in the Gorenjska statistical region. The Emergency Centre will also be connected to other emergency centres of higher professional level.
The investment includes the expansion and partial reorganisation or adaptation of the existing hospital emergency service in the ground floor of the General Hospital Jesenice (altogether, the new Emergency Centre will expand over a 1,387 m2 surface) and the construction of a new driveway for ambulances with a roofed platform and the option of a personalized access. The new Emergency Centre will provide modern conditions for emergency medical services in the area of the Gorenjska statistical region, including the merger of primary and hospital emergency service in a single location. This will ensure better medical treatment of patients in a single location and drastically improve the possibilities of better diagnostic and therapeutic treatment. The project will also contribute to better accessibility and higher professional level of non-stop emergency medical assistance for the users of emergency medical assistance services from the gravitation area of Jesenice.
You can find more information about the project at the Ministry of Health which is responsible for the implementation of the project.
