EU funds for new premises at Faculty of Information Studies in Novo mesto
Ljubljana, 18 May 2015 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, acting as the Managing Authority for European Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund, approved the project “Acquiring new premises for the Faculty of Information Studies”. The investment worth nearly EUR 2 million will receive European Regional Development Fund support in the amount of approximately EUR 1.5 million.
With the investment the Faculty of Information Studies will acquire new premises which will enable the Faculty to perform its tasks in a single location.
In the framework of the project also new research equipment will be purchased which will establish basic conditions for developing new technologies and further enhance the cooperation between the research sphere and the users of knowledge which will further strengthen the transfer of knowledge from the academic sphere to public, profit and non-profit sector, and promote taking an interdisciplinary approach to research. This is also in line with the objective of the Faculty to become a knowledge factory in the field of informatics.
