Ljubljana, 2 August 2013 – Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, acting as the Managing Authority for the EU structural funds and the Cohesion Fund, approved the public call for proposals to co-finance the operations of renovations, reconstructions, integral revitalisations and modernisations of cultural monuments owned by municipalities. The call for proposals will be published by the Ministry of Culture. The framework value of the funds for the co-financing of the investments of renovation, reconstruction, integral revitalisation and modernisation of cultural monuments owned by municipalities is 5,700,000 Euros. The European Regional Development Fund contribution amounts to 85 percent of the value or over 4.8 million Euros.
The objective of the call for proposals is the promotion of the investments in renovation, reconstruction, integral revitalisation and modernisation of cultural monuments owned by municipalities which will promote new opportunities for sustainable development of rural areas, urban (city) centres and regions. Such investments will increase the number of renovated and revitalised cultural monuments, increase the number of visitors and contribute to the creation of jobs in the field of cultural or economic-tourist activities.
The subject of the call for proposals is major investments of national importance. Beneficiaries, eligible to the funds under this call for proposals, are the municipalities which own cultural monuments.
