EU funds for the programme Enriched foreign language learning II

Ljubljana, 18 July 2012 – Ministry of Economic Development and Technology (MEDT), as the Managing Authority for the EU structural funds and the Cohesion Fund, issued a decision granting EU funds for the programme Enriched foreign language learning II. The overall value of the EU grants for the implementation of the programme amounts to 380,000.00 Euros, out of which the European Social Fund contribution amounts to 323,000.00 Euros.  

The objective of the programme is to strengthen the quality of foreign language teaching and learning in primary and secondary schools, namely with the introduction of innovative teaching methods with the inclusion of foreign languages into the implementation curriculum. Also teachers and school management employees will be trained to perform innovative foreign language teaching (inter-cultural and inter-disciplinary approaches and team teaching). The programme will also support the network of schools which develop and test training programmes with modelling of team class of the Slovenian and foreign teachers.   

The implementation of the programme, which will also contribute to increasing the authenticity of learning objectives, learning process and the evaluation of learning results, is in the responsibility of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.
