Ljubljana, 20 September 2012 – Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, as the Managing Authority for the EU structural funds and the Cohesion Fund, issued a decision approving the public call for proposals for the promotion of research-development projects for the development of e-services 2012–2014. The overall value of the grant, which will be awarded by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport in 2012, 2013 and 2014 for the realisation of the project, is 3,000,000.00 Euros. European Regional Development Fund contribution is 2,550,000.00 Euros.
The purpose of the public call for proposals is to promote investments in research and experimental development in the field of e-services and, thus, stimulate the economy to introduce new organisational-development and business concepts. Besides the innovative technological development the public call for proposals will also mitigate the economic crisis.
The subject of the public call for proposals is the co-financing of new and innovative e-services of the pre-competitive research-development projects of e-services in the following areas:
• E-services in the field of culture
• Scientific and educational e-services
• E-services for consumers
• E-services in the field of health
• E-operation
• E-services in the field of local self-governance
• E-services in the field of energy efficiency and environment protection.
Horizontal priorities, which will receive support as a priority, are sustainable development, economical use of energy, smart buildings – smart cities, environment protection and transition into a low-carbon society.
The public cal for proposals will promote the formation of effective development groups and cooperation between the economy, educational institutions and the users. New development environments will enable greater investments into research and experimental development in the field of information-communication technology which will promote the development of globally competitive, innovative e-services and inclusive information society in Slovenia.
The public call for proposals is one of the measures to promote economic development and mitigate the economic crisis. By supporting new projects and, consequently, increasing the number of internet users, the public call for proposals will also contribute to reaching the objectives of the EU regional development policy, European digital agenda, National reform programme 2012–2013 and the objectives of the Resolution on the research and innovation strategy of Slovenia 2011–2020.
The public call for proposals is implemented in the framework of the Operational Programme for Strengthening Regional Development Potentials for the period 2007–2013.
The ministry, responsible for the implementation of the public call for proposals, is the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport.
