EU funds for the Trbovje Emergency Centre

Ljubljana, 20 June 2013 – The Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, acting as the Managing Authority for the EU structural funds and the Cohesion Fund, issued a decision awarding EU funds for the Trbovje Emergency Centre. The construction of the emergency centre will enhance the efficiency, improve the accessibility and raise the level of expertise of the non-stop emergency medical service in the Zasavje region. The overall value of the project amounts to 2.7 million Euros of which the European Regional Development Fund contribution amounts to approximately 2.1 million Euros.

The investment includes the construction of the new emergency centre as well as the purchase of equipment. The investment will be implemented partially with the demolition and reconstruction as well as adaptation of the existing constructed part in the North-Western segment of the primary facility of the Trbovje General Hospital, partially with a new construction or additional construction of the deconstructed part from three sides. The construction of a new emergency driveway for rescue vehicles with a cover platform is also foreseen.

This will enable an optimal access to services and a quick and effective emergency service for the Zasavje region. The primary and hospital emergency service will be merged in a single location which will ensure better medical treatment of patients in a single location and drastically improve the possibilities of better diagnostic and therapeutic treatment.

Adequate facilities and equipment will enable the realisation of adequate reorganisation of the activity of the emergency department; the construction of the emergency centre will bring greater accessibility of public services for its users. This will also improve the accessibility to healthcare services.

You can find more information about the project at the Ministry of Health which is responsible for the implementation of the project.
