The campaign started in May 2010 and was organised by the Automobile Association of Slovenia and the Government Office for Local Self-Government and Regional Policy as the Managing Authority. The objective of the campaign was to raise the level of recognition of the projects co-financed by the European Union on the basis of the Operational Programme of Environmental and Transport Infrastructure Development (OP ETID).
The courses were given to those participants who showed the adequate knowledge of the European Union and the co-financed projects. The courses took place in the Centre of safe driving in Vransko. The campaign contributed to greater knowledge of the public about the projects co-financed by the EU funds and to greater road safety. The campaign is an added-value to transport projects implemented with the Cohesion Fund and the European Regional Development Fund such as the construction of motorways and state roads, bypasses, non-level crossings and cycling paths.
The courses were distributed on the basis of questionnaires, the answers could be found on the internet page of the Managing Authority. If the participants’ answers to all the seven questions were correct, they could take part in the safe driving course. The participants who were less successful but managed to answer five questions correctly were given useful consolation prizes.
The campaign was well-accepted which is proven by the numerous statements of the participants.
