Ljubljana, 30 August 2012 – Ministry of Economic Development and Technology (MEDT), as the Managing Authority for the EU structural funds and the Cohesion Fund, approved the Public call for proposals for the Promotion of the development of non-governmental organizations and civil dialogue for the period 2012–2014. The overall value of the grant for the implementation of the public call for proposals is 4,588,789.00 Euros out of which the European Regional Fund contribution is 3,900,470.65 Euros. The ministry, responsible for the implementation of the public call for proposals, is the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration.
The purpose of the public call for proposals is to strengthen the active role of non-governmental organisations in the formation and implementation of public policies, strengthen the competence of NGOs, assure services for the non-governmental organisations with the objective of promoting the quality and effectiveness of their activity, financial independence from the public sources and competence to establish NGOs and users’ needs, the promotion of non-governmental sector with the objective of awareness-rising of the general public, media, economy and public administration on the importance of the non-governmental sector and its role in solving the key developmental questions.
The public call for proposals is implemented in the framework of the Operational Programme for Human Resources Development for the period 2007–2013.
