MEDT approved the Public call for proposals to select development projects to boost the employability of vulnerable social groups in the field of culture and to support their social inclusion

Ljubljana, 19 November 2012 – The Ministry of Economic Development and Technology (MEDT), as the Managing Authority for the EU structural funds and the Cohesion Fund, approved the “Public call for proposals to select development projects to boost the employability of vulnerable social groups in the field of culture and to support their social inclusion in the framework of the European Social Fund in 2013 and 2014”. The overall amount of the funds which the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport will guarantee for the implementation of the public call for proposals is over 4,000,000.00 Euros. The European Social Fund contribution amounts to 85 percent of this value.

The funds of the public call for proposals are meant for the co-financing of development, innovative and sustainable projects, the objective of which is to strengthen qualification and raise the level of employability of vulnerable social groups (in accordance with the public call for proposals: the members of the Hungarian and Italian national community, the Roma community, national communities defined in the Declaration of the Republic of Slovenia on the situation of persons belonging to national minorities of the former Yugoslavia in Slovenia, various minority ethnic groups and immigrants and disabled persons) in the field of culture.

The purpose of the public call for proposals is to promote, motivate and enhance the proactive activity of individuals from vulnerable groups for their greater social inclusion and employability. This involves a sustainable strengthening of human capital and innovative investments into the development of personnel. This needs a strengthened administrative qualification and professionalism of the employees at the organisation which act in the field of culture.

The potential beneficiaries for the funds of the public call for proposals, which is implemented in the framework of the Operational Programme for Human Resources Development for the period 2007–2013 and will be published by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, are non-governmental organisations located in the Republic of Slovenia that are non-profit legal persons of private law, which are founded and act as an association, institution or establishment in the field of culture and which include into their activity at least one of the vulnerable social groups according to this public call for proposals.
