Ljubljana, 19 April 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the project Business Zone Žiri: utility infrastructure. The EUR 2.4 million project that will be implemented by Municipality Žiri in the framework of the Agreement on the development of the Gorenjska region will be supported by the EU, with the contribution from the European Regional Development Fund standing at EUR 869,000.
Municipality Žiri will build economic and business infrastructure in order to expand the existing business zone. Site-wide improvements will create appropriate conditions for further development and growth of businesses eyeing business expansion and representing major employers in the region.
The expanded business zone will boost the development of the economy in the municipality and in the region, it will help increase added value of SMEs and drive up regional employment figures.
