Ljubljana, 9 March 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has issued a funding decision for the Call for proposals for co-financing residential care facilities for seniors under the age of 65. The amount of funding made available under the call stands at nearly EUR 7 million, of which over EUR 5.5 million comes from the European Regional Development Fund.
The call aims to co-finance projects that provide resident capacities in newly started group homes for adults with a mental health condition, mental disability, sensor impairment and advanced chronic condition or limited life prognosis due to different causes. The new senior housing option will be available to individuals under the age of 65 who are now placed in institutional settings which deliver round-the-clock residential care. Public institutions providing institutional care will be eligible to apply for funding under the call for proposals.
The call plans to co-finance the development of 25 residential units and the purchase of 25 vehicles (no more than a vehicle per unit) in cohesion region Vzhodna Slovenija. Resident capacities will be achieved either through new construction or through purchase and repurposing of existing buildings.
The call for proposals will be open to public institutions providing residential care and will be published by the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities on 12 March 2021.
