Ljubljana, 10 June 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the project Wastewater collection and treatment in the Drava River basin – Municipality Šentilj. The project worth a little under EUR 1.6 million will be implemented by the municipality Šentilj under the Agreement on the Development of the Podravje region and will receive EUR 553 thousand of Cohesion Fund support.
As part of the project municipality Šentilj will upgrade 4626 metres of faecal sludge sewerage in four areas within the Štihovec agglomeration. Four pumping stations and an overflow facility will also be constructed. 217 population units will be newly connected to the sewerage.
The project is planned to be closed at the end of 2022.
