Ljubljana, 29 October 2020 – In July, a total of EUR 38,650,000 was provided to help our healthcare facilities in providing medical services to COVID-19 patients. As the epidemic has got worse, the funding supporting healthcare facilities dealing with COVID-19 patients is being increased by a further 20 million euros to EUR 59,000,000. The funding will be used for the purchase of key medical equipment and personal protective equipment of frontline healthcare workers needed to successfully fight COVID-19.
Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved additional 20 million euros that will help all healthcare facilities fighting the outbreak on a 24/7 basis get the much needed protective equipment and other medical supplies.
While this additional funding will not stop the epidemic, it will at least help mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 crisis.
