Ljubljana, 22 March 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the project “Jesenice Business Zone expansion – reconstructing transport infrastructure”. The project worth approximately EUR 1,1 million will be implemented by the Municipality Jesenice and will receive over EUR 610,000 of European Regional Development Fund support.
As part of the project, Municipality Jesenice will implement a comprehensive reconstruction of the transport infrastructure, including renovating the water supply system and constructing drainage in the north-western part of the Jesenice Business Zone.
The project seeks to enhance economic development at the local, regional and national level, improve the long-term competitiveness of the Jesenice Business Zone and support the arrival of new and growth of existing companies. Municipality Jesenice thus wishes to improve the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises located in the area, as well as increase the number of jobs in companies and enhance added value in companies.
Reconstruction of transport infrastructure will also reduce noise and improve air quality, and thus the quality of life in the city centre.
