Ljubljana, 21 January 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has issued a funding decision for the project National Centre of Comprehensive Rehabilitation of Blind and Partially Sighted, which will be implemented by the Ministry of Health. Worth a total of nearly one million euros, the project will receive a contribution from the European Regional Development Fund amounting to almost 519,000 euros.
Project activities will be geared at providing appropriate conditions for work of the National Centre of Comprehensive Rehabilitation of Blind and Partially Sighted. The goal of the project is to improve the quality of the rehabilitation programme which is delivered at the Department of Ophthalmology of the University Medical Centre Ljubljana, and improve access to the rehabilitation programme offered to the target group. It is important that measures are taken to ensure a better life for the blind and visually impaired and to increase the efficiency of individual therapy sessions in the scope of their full rehabilitation plans. Another important aspect is to improve the working conditions for the staff and professionals working with the blind and visually impaired and for other participants in the programme.
