Ljubljana, 12 February 2020 - Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, Managing Authority for European Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund, has issued a grant decision for the project “Cycling and pedestrian overpass across Titova cesta” in Maribor. The value of the project is just over EUR 370,000 with Cohesion Fund contribution amounting to EUR 206,000 under the Integrated Territorial Investment Mechanism (CTN).
The purpose of the project is to provide a comprehensive cycling network in Maribor and conditions for daily migrations of cyclists within the city of Maribor. This will significantly improve the cycling connection in this part of the city and the wider environment, and shorten the north-south route in a traffic-safe way. The aim of the project is to build the missing segment of the future bicycle connection, which completes the planned arrangement of the bicycle and pedestrian overpass over Titova cesta, including the connection to the existing infrastructure. As part of the investment, it is also planned to install urban equipment for cyclists and green the bank.
