Ljubljana, 20 April 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved funding for the project “Footbridge Lent-Tabor”. The project worth a little under EUR 4.5 million will be implemented by the Urban Municipality of Maribor and will receive EUR 2.6 million of European Regional Development Fund support.
As part of the project, the Municipality Maribor will build a footbridge over the Drava River connecting the left and right bank at the Old Bridge. Safe and separate connections for pedestrians and cyclists will be established on the Lent-Tabor footbridge.
The investment aims to revitalise and establish connections in the area of the Drava River banks. By constructing the footbridge, the paths in the city centre will shorten, with the flow capacity and the number of visitors to the area also being enhanced. By implementing such a project, the capital of the Štajerska region also promotes sustainable mobility.
