Government Office has issued a funding decision for the project Drinking water supply in the Upper Sava River basin area – Lot 1. The EUR 14.6 million environmental infrastructure project will be supported by the EU with the contribution from the Cohesion Fund standing at over EUR 6.1 million.
The project seeks to ensure long-term safe and secure supply of high-quality drinking water to nearly 30,000 residents in municipalities Cerklje na Gorenjskem, Kranj (part), Šenčur (part), Komenda and Vodice. The project will include laying of over a 24-kilometre long water pipeline, arrangement of catchments, construction of elevated water storage tanks or reservoirs, including a water supply facility, as well as reconstruction of the storage tank Grad, construction of the storage tank Taber and setting up of 10 junctions in the water distribution network.
