Ljubljana, 7 May 2020 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, the Managing Authority for ESIF and Cohesion Fund, has issued a financial support decision for the project “Road S-J-3 in the Tezno Business Zone (upgrading EPC)”. The project worth EUR 400,000 will be implemented by the Municipality of Maribor and will receive nearly EUR 246,000 of European Regional Development Fund support.
The project will result in implementing construction and craft works for the establishment of a road section with all the associated infrastructure in the western part of the Tezno Business Zone, which is one of the largest zones in the region. Companies are already operating in the zone, however, the road and municipal and energy infrastructure have not yet been built.
The investment will contribute to providing normal conditions for the operation of companies and enable their expansion and establishment of new facilities. This will increase the revenues of companies in the domestic and foreign markets as well as enhance their added value. The project will also result in new jobs which are important for the Municipality of Maribor and the wider region of Podravje. The road will also enhance traffic safety and the overall arrangement of the Tezno Business Zone.
