Ljubljana, 27 March 2018 - Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, the Managing Authority for ERDF, ESF and Cohesion Fund, issued a grant decision for the programme ‘’Promotion of old-age employment – Active till retirement’’. The programme is set to receive a total of EUR 14 million, of which EUR 11.2 million comes from the European Social Fund.
The programme aims to encourage employers to hire jobless older workers on permanent contracts or at least until these individuals reach the early or full retirement age. The programme improves access to labour market for older workers, while boosting the employment rate of older workers and promoting labour and social activation, which efficiently addresses the current labour market situation.
The Employment Service of Slovenia will publish an invitation and select the employers that will meet the set criteria and conditions to receive wage subsidies for recruiting older unemployed persons on permanent contracts or at least until these individuals meet the early or full retirement conditions. The subsidy will amount to EUR 11,000 for a full-time job and will be eligible in its entirety on condition that the worker will remain with the employer for at least 24 months.
