Ljubljana, 18 August 2022 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EUR 1.95 million in EU funding for the project Slovenske Konjice-Oplotnica bypass.
The project covers the construction of the Slovenske Konjice-Oplotnica bypass with a length of 600 metres, construction of an area for pedestrians and cyclists on both sides of the bypass with a length of 1,200 metres, and deviations of existing roads (cut off due to the investment) with a total length of 515 metres. The project will also result in the demolition of a facility, relocation of a gas pipeline, relocation and protection of power lines, installing street lighting and low-voltage power connection, noise barriers, and arrangement of the landscape of the area where the bypass is located.
The successfully implemented project will result in less traffic in the city and contribute to reducing the negative impacts on the environment, improve traffic safety for all road users and establish a better connection to the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).
The project worth EUR 3,664,129.69 will receive European Regional Development Fund contribution of EUR 1,954,320.22.
