Ljubljana, 8 November 2017 - Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, the Managing Authority for ERDF, ESF and Cohesion fund, issued a grant decision for the project ‘’Soft measures for sustainable mobility’’. The project is set to receive EUR 3.4 million, of which EUR 2.9 million comes from the Cohesion Fund.
The project aims to deliver a comprehensive promotion of sustainable forms of transport through motivational and educational activities across the country, and supports the development of expert baselines for companies, institutions and local communities to rely on in the future when preparing future local strategies and transport-related measures. The project consists of several measures, i.e. awareness-raising campaign on sustainable mobility, mobility plans for institutions, sustainable mobility educational programmes in kindergartens and primary schools, green urban logistics, sustainable parking policy, removal of traffic from the city centre, use of advanced technologies for mobility management.
The project seeks to reduce emissions from transport and curb vehicle noise emissions, and advocates for increased use of public transportation.
