Ljubljana, 13 March 2020 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, the Managing Authority for the ERDF, the ESF and the Cohesion Fund, has issued a funding decision for the project Connection road Ljubečna-motorway junction Celje vzhod. The project with a total budget of EUR 4.35 million is to receive a contribution from the ERDF amounting to EUR 2.8 million.
Motorway junction Celje vzhod and the newly constructed connection road will make the motorway more accessible for all groups of road users while relieving the existing Celje road network of traffic burden. The connection road will significantly facilitate access to the motorway and the TEN-T network for all settlements lying north of the road (Ljubečna, Arclin, Vojnik, Dobrna…). The existing regional road will take a connecting function linking nearby settlements (Ljubečna, Šmiklavž pri Škofji vasi …). The new 1,360-metre long two-lane road with a speed limit of 80 km/h will serve exclusively motorised traffic.
