Ljubljana, 4 March 2020 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, Managing Authority for ESIF and Cohesion Fund, has issued a grant decision for the Dom na Krasu project. The project is worth over EUR 2.2 million and will receive nearly EUR 1.8 million of European Social Fund support.
The purpose of the project is to pilot the process of deinstitutionalisation of the Dom na Krasu institution with the aim of increasing the dignity of its users, namely adults with long-term mental health problems and adults with intellectual disabilities. With the right support, they will be able to return to the community and live as independent a life as possible.
The project will contribute to reducing institutionalisation and hospitalisations by promptly addressing crisis situations and will enable better integration of users in the social or local environment. This involves adapting the operation and working methods of existing institutional service providers which provide users with support in leading a more independent life.
The Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Social Welfare will also participate as a partner in the project.
