Ljubljana, 11 March 2020 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, the Managing Authority for the ERDF, the ESF and the Cohesion Fund, has issued a funding decision for the project Velenje urban cycle network - downtown. This ITI-funded project, worth a total of EUR 603,000, will receive a contribution from the Cohesion Fund amounting to EUR 336,000.
The investment includes the development of cycling infrastructure in three sections with a total length of 879 meters and the setting up of 17 designated bicycle parking areas with 130 stands or racks. The cycling infrastructure will connect city zones with different intended use, i.e. residential, commercial and recreational areas, catering to the needs of its users. The project has been designed to connect the existing cycling connections and newly developed sections to create an integrated system of urban cycle network.
