Ljubljana, 5 April 2022 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for energy renovation of the building of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Novo mesto General Hospital. Thermal insulation of the facility’s external walls and roof, upgrade of ventilation and lighting, and replacement of the facility’s windows and doors will be carried out with support from the Cohesion Fund.
Energy conservation measures aiming to improve energy performance of the facility will be carried out in the scope of the project that will be managed by the Ministry of Health. As part of deep renovation of the building, all external walls and roof will be thermally insulated, and all doors and windows will be replaced with energy efficient doors and windows. In addition, upgrades will be made to the facility’s ventilation system and lighting. As a result, the refurbished facility will provide greater degrees of comfort for the patients, and better working conditions for the staff. Altogether nearly 10,000 square meters of net floor area will be renovated under the project which is expected to be completed by the summer of 2023.
Thus, the Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy continues to pursue its mission of giving the EU money back to the people, through better healthcare services and improved healthcare infrastructure.
