Litija – 3 May 2021 – Minister for Development and the EU Cohesion Policy Zvone Černač continues his visits to Slovenian municipalities. Today he met with the Mayor of the Municipality of Šmartno pri Litiji, Rajko Meserko, and the Mayor of the Municipality of Litija, Franci Rokavec.
At the Bogenšperk Castle, Minister Černač met with the Mayor of the Municipality of Šmartno pri Litiji, Rajko Meserko, and his colleagues who presented projects that are supported by the 2014-2020 European Cohesion Policy funds and project proposals to apply for the 2021-2027 European Cohesion Policy funding as well as the support available under the Recovery and Resilience Fund. ‘There are quite a few municipal projects that could receive the 2021-2027 European Cohesion Policy funding and the support available under the Recovery and Resilience Fund, in particular, projects focusing on water supply and sewerage systems, cultural and tourist facilities, and new capacities for the care of the elderly,’ the Minister said.
Minister Černač then visited the municipality of Litija. Together with Mayor Franci Rokavec and his colleagues, they visited the Sitarjevec mine where they were presented with the results of the MINE TOUR project for active preservation of mining heritage through the development of new, cross-border tourist products. The project received European Regional Development Fund support under the Interreg Slovenia-Croatia Cooperation Programme 2014-2020. The Minister was presented with projects that will be of significant importance to the municipality in the next years, and the possibilities of including the municipality in the programme of just transition from the coal regions.
