Ljubljana, 27 December 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the Call for proposals for investment in quality and sustainable transformation of Slovenian tourism sector to strengthen its resilience. The call will be published and managed by the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology and supported by the European Regional Development Fund under the React-EU initiative.
The call for proposals aims to strengthen the resilience of Slovenia’s tourism sector and paves the way towards a quality and sustainable transformation of the sector. In addition, the call will address the issue of seasonality in tourism and ensure the added value of the tourism sector. It will contribute to the development of sustainable, authentic and so-called boutique tourism founded on quality products and exceptional natural potentials. The call will notably support the development of comprehensive high-quality services offering cutting-edge and authentic experiences which make Slovenia internationally recognized as a green, active and healthy tourist destination and increase the country’s competitiveness.
