Ljubljana, 28 February 2022 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the project COVID-19 – Energy renovation of Nova Gorica General Hospital. The project will receive funding from the European Regional Development Fund under the React-EU initiative; 28,457 square meters of net floor area of the Nova Gorica General Hospital will be renovated as a result.
As part of the project that will be implemented by the Ministry of Health, the General Hospital building will undergo energy conservation measures that will result in overall improvement in its energy performance. More specifically, the roof and the façade of the building will be additionally thermally insulated and its windows will be replaced with energy saving windows. The refurbished hospital will see upgrades made to the energy monitoring software, the mechanical ventilation system and the heating system. Overall, 28,457 square meters of net floor area will be renovated under the project which is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
Thus, the Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy continues to pursue its mission of giving the EU money back to the people, through better healthcare services and improved healthcare infrastructure.
