The final, 5.8-kilometre segment of the 13-kilometre motorway section between Draženci and Gruškovje on the border with Croatia was opened to traffic at the end of November 2018. The stretch was the ''missing link'' that now completes a 33-kilometre section of the Podravje motorway between Slivnica (Maribor) and Gruškovje border crossing which forms part of the pan-European Transport Corridor.
13.03 kilometres long, the completed stretch lies on the route of the current G 1-9 main road. The latter will be replaced by a 13.9-kilometre regional road running parallel to the motorway and serving to provide connections between residential areas adjacent to the motorway and enabling access to nearby lands. Three slip roads were built in the scope of this transport project: Lancova vas, Podlehnik and Zakl. Additionally, the motorway section features the following newly built bridging and supporting structures:
- 7 overpasses,
- 3 underpasses,
- 2 underpasses (pedestrians and cyclists underpass and animal crossing structure),
- 9 motorway bridges,
- 15 bridges on deviations,
- Log tunnel (105 metres long),
- 28 retaining walls and 3 supporting walls,
- 23 rectangular portal culverts and 44 circular culverts.
