Tourism stakeholders in the Posavje region realized that cooperation between different tourism providers was extremely important. Nowadays, tourists do not only seek individual tourism products and services, instead, they prefer to experience the destination as a whole. If tourism providers join forces and cooperate smartly, they ensure that visitors get the most out of their travel experience and that the tourism industry bring benefits to the region and local community and contributes to sustainable development of the region. To this end, they developed a project called Development and promotion of top destinations Čatež and the Posavje region which seeks to unite all tourism providers in the Posavje region, increase digitalization, boost destination marketing and make the Posavje region recognized as an interesting tourism destination, create a unique visitor experience and increase the number of tourist arrivals.
The project supported the design of new integrated tourism projects and experience which included additional 50 key tourism providers. Besides new products and experiences, they created and started actively using social media (Instagram, Twitter, TripAdvisor, Facebook and LinkedIn), and upgraded their dedicated website www.posavje.com. A series of promotional activities were carried out in Croatian, Italian, German and Austrian travel market to creatively communicate the destination’s value proposition and attract potential visitors.
The implementation of the project itself, its results and outcomes create a solid foundation for further development of tourism and marketing of the destinations of Čatež and the Posavje region, and are an important step towards raising awareness of joint work of all relevant stakeholders to drive awareness of the destination. The value of tourism destination brings benefits to everyone in the chain as tourism industry is closely interconnected with other sectors, contributing directly to the development of entrepreneurship, rural areas, trade, agriculture etc. Tourism stakeholders from Čatež and the Posavje region are committed to continuing the organized approach to how they plan, manage, control and market destination development.
