In the framework of the project three new sales stands have been set up in the Grosuplje marketplace which are of uniform and modern look. In addition to the two local and well-known providers of fruit and vegetables and fast food, there is also a provider of cured meat products. In addition to the milk machine, a potato machine has also set up in the market, which means that in addition to fresh milk, home-grown potato is also available non-stop.
The project covers the 1st phase of the market reconstruction with the Municipality’s vision also being to expand the market after the arrangement of the Adamičeva cesta Street, with the Grosupeljščica riverbed being arranged following the construction of the Veliki potok detention pond and the new road connection to the roundabout at Kovinastroj.
The project received EU funding through the Local Action Group Sožitje med mestom in podeželjem (Coexistence between the city and the countryside) in the framework of which the tourist info point Tabor Cerovo, the Zavrh Sports and Recreation Park and the Zacurek pond were also financed. At the market opening ceremony Director of the municipal administration mag. Dušan Hočevar said in his statement for the Dolenjski list newspaper “It is very important to have the knowledge, will and energy to be awarded EU funding as the funds support our better and faster development. With the money of our municipal budget alone, we would not be able to develop so successfully and in line with all the current development trends.”
