Nebesa – Heaven really exists. You can find Nebesa in Slovenia in the municipality Kobarid. And how beautiful Nebesa has become with the help of EU funding. The EU funding was awarded for energy-saving renovation in the frame of the call for proposals for the co-financing of investments in new tourist facilities and renovation of existing facilities, which enhance renewable energy use as well as energy and material efficiency. Nebesa now boasts energy self-sufficiency and virtually zero carbon footprint.
The Nebesa Chalets tourist resort and the Hiša Franko company used EU funding to design a new product, namely the HIGH ON LIFE brand (High above everyday life). Both companies share a similar philosophy, that is to continue with the development of boutique tourism and offer services and products primarily to more demanding guests. The HIGH ON LIFE story and products are designed as a tourist experience in the peaceful environment of the Soča Valley and are based on strong cooperation with the local community and providers. They cover everything from authentic insight into cheese-making in the high mountains, getting to know and experiencing local specialties and the First World War history, tasting the local cuisine of the Posočje area, and observing the unique nature and animals. Guided tours connect history, local cuisine, cultural heritage and tradition and have thus become a 5* star experience.
The abovementioned was, indeed, the aim of the call for proposals, namely to encourage companies to take a more innovative approach to designing tourism products and services, and to help with marketing and promotion. The aim of co-financing development and promotion of tourism products in the tourism industry was also to establish conditions for small and medium-sized enterprises to accelerate the development of their tourism activities. This also promotes doing business which is based on the principles of sustainable development and digital marketing.
