Ljubljana, 9 May 2018 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, the Managing Authority for ERDF, ESF and Cohesion Fund, issued a grant decision for the programme Non-formal employee education and training. The programme makes a total of EUR 2.1 million available, of which a little under EUR 1.7 million comes from the European Social Fund.
The purpose of the programme, which is to be implemented by the Public Scholarship, Development, Disability and Maintenance Fund of the Republic of Slovenia, is to boost employee training with a view to improving employee skills, competences, and performance, as well as to strengthening employee competitiveness, and enhancing employability and mobility. In turn, the activities should have spillover effects, reflected in improved competitiveness of the employers. The system of employee training initiatives will be established and designed to meet the relevant labour market needs, which will contribute to reducing structural imbalances in the labour market, and improving the employee qualification structure.
Over 2,500 employees with regular employment in the Republic of Slovenia, sole proprietors who are not in an employment relationship with another employer, and self-employed individuals registered as independent cultural workers are to participate in the training programme.
