Ljubljana, 1 March 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved funding for the project Promotion of entrepreneurship in the Goričko Natural Park. The EUR 1.2 million development project will be carried out by municipality Šalovci and will receive support from the European Regional Development Fund in the amount of 570,000 euros.
Works under the project will include the development of utility infrastructure enabling the newly established Šalovci business zone site to fully function. This will include the construction of a slip-road to the regional road and a new access road with sidewalks, as well as installation of underground utilities, such as water supply pipes, sewer pipes, power and telecommunication cables, and installation of street lighting. With this project, local authorities wish to foster the development of SMEs which are the key driver of economic development in the region. The municipality also aims to provide stimulating environment for the work and operation of existing and future SMEs, and to create conditions that will boost job creation and further support development of the region.
