Ljubljana, 20 May 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the project Agreement on the development of region: Slovenian Infrastructure Agency - Prevalje-Poljana. The EUR 679,000 cycle project will be implemented by the Slovenian Infrastructure Agency under the Agreement on the development of the Koroška region and supported by the EU, with the contribution from the European Regional Development Fund standing at EUR 213,000.
The Slovenian Infrastructure Agency will build a 2.41-kilometre long cycling route crossing Municipality Prevalje. The newly provided route will start at the bridge crossing the Meža River next to the Petrol gas station and will continue all the way to the settlement Poljana, where it will connect to the state road Prevalje-Ravne na Koroškem. As a result, the local cycle network will be linked to the national cycle network.
The project will promote sustainable mobility through improved conditions for daily migrations by bicycle, improved road safety and better conditions for safe walking and cycling in Municipality Prevalje.
