Ljubljana, 18 May 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the project Mobility management in Urban Municipality Celje. The nearly EUR 1.3 million project will be implemented by Urban Municipality Celje and supported by the European Regional Development Fund with a contribution of EUR 677,000.
As part of the project, Urban Municipality Celje will establish the Central Information Platform (CIP) that will include a single city card, upgrade of hardware, terminal equipment at identified locations and contact-free keycards. In addition, the municipality will roll out a smart city parking management system consisting of a parking guidance system and intelligent wayfinding solutions, a parking control system giving information about the number of available parking spaces and large interactive information boards, which will enhance the driving and parking experience.
The project will importantly contribute to the achievement of municipal strategic goals, scaling up municipality’s efforts to implement smart sustainable mobility solutions and to become a low-carbon city.
