Ljubljana, 20 May 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the project Skills foresight platform. EUR 1 million project will be implemented jointly by the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities as the beneficiary and the Employment Service of Slovenia as the beneficiary's partner. The project will be supported by the EU, with the contribution from the European Social Fund amounting to EUR 800,000.
The Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities and the Employment Service of Slovenia will work together to develop a skills foresight system designed to anticipate skills needs and identify skills gaps and shortages to support the design and implementation of policies with a short, medium and long-term perspective. Specifically, the system will enable the upgrading of future skills and jobs foresight and forward-looking assessment for a time horizon of one to ten years and will bring together key institutions and stakeholders to work together on future development and planning of lifelong learning policy, lifelong career orientation policy, scholarship policy and employment policy.
The project will provide for the employee skills upgrading and upskilling in line with the labour market demands, and subsequent enhancing of the competitiveness of the Slovenian economy.
